Default unable 2 write DVDs

I recently bought a LiteON LH-16AIP Super All Write DVD writer. I was able to burn Cds without problem. however when I try to burn DVDs I get the following error message.

Using NERO 7 essential for burning.
My config
AMD Athlon XP 2100+
2*40 GB HDD
2*256 MB RAM
I also tried disabling the overburn feature and disk at-once feature but still could not burn a DVD

Please tell me whats going wrong and how to go about doing it properly
thanx

I read somewhere that these newer Liteon DVD writers insisit on a 80 wire ATA100 data cable. Check if you are using this type of cable and not the older 40 wire ATA33 cable.

I faced similar problem in my Sony DW-G120A DVD writer when I tried to burn MoserBaer DVDs
But it was problem in firmware, after upgrading the firmware the problem was solved

Fixation error is due to media compatibility. It may be solved through firmware update. Light On is supposed to take wider range of media including locals. Trying changing your media, try out any local media for once or Writex, Eurovision etc. You would come to know that where the problem lies.

Upgarding firmware, will add support for more media & burn speeds etc. Want anything of firmware or product reviews, look at cdfreaks.com
