That's all things of past. CRT's are slowing perishing. Almost all companies use LCD for 3D softwares like CATIA V5, PRO-E, Unigraphics etc without problems. Go for LCD. No problems at all.

Upgrading to a LCD with a good response time will benefit u. As far as CRT's go u can also have them, if u can give it the space, try opting for a 19" flat monitor from viewsonic.

all those listed above requires staring at monitors for long times at a go.......

DUDE........ CRT's have harmful radiations and adversly effect eyes in long runs and Do yourself a favour go for TFT as you can't put a price on your eyes or Do you????????

LCD can have response time of 8ms for example samsung 740bn........ so do not worry about lagging and things like that as if you see more than 8 frames per second then it will appear moving to your eyes no matter what... General science DUDE...............

Peace
Raj

Yes, VX 922. Very good monitor but a bit costlier.

About 2-3 months back I bought it for 17.5K but now you should get it much cheaper since cost of LCD monitors have come down drastically in the recent past.

Question Re: LCD or CRT???

I also had same apprehesions. I am avid gamer. I did lot of research on the topic. Even digit had reviewed CRTs and concluded that 8ms or less should be OK enough. You can go for Samsung 19" Wide [Model 940BW]. It would cost you arround 14000 - 15000. Plenty of them are available on ebay.in

Viewsonic with 2ms response time will be very costly. Apart from response time you sholud also watch out for contrast ratio [700 0r 500:1] and brightness of 350cd/m2.
