keep in mind that the primary use of the pc that i m gonna upgrade is in gaming ...
well 1st of all lemme tell u that i am a noob so please excuse me if what i am asking sounds very silly. OK now i have a intel 865 GBF MOBO & 2.8 GHZ HT & no graphics card ( my old 1 died) & 256 MB DDR RAM .. So i m upgrading to a
AMD 3800+ processor & the MOBO would be MSI K9N or ASUS. I ll be buying a 8800 card later .. when the prices come down or when my cousin can get it to me from the US .. the MSI board has onboard 128 MB card which i dont mind using for a while..
the reason i m upgrading is simple .. i wanted to add a RAM & a card anyway (since my old card died) so I dont think its worth buying an AGP card (865GBF doesnt hav PCI express) & 1 GB DDR RAM when i can buy a new PCI-E card & DDR 2 RAM.. in short no use upgrading to an obselete technology
1st of all I wana know is there really a difference between intel 2.8GHZ HT & AMD 3800+?? i.e is the upgrade worth it?
2nd will the MSI K9N & AMD 3800+ processor support the recently launched 88000 cards ??
3rd if u think theres another prcessor ro MOBO i shud buy, lemme know
