LG combo Drive Firmware Update Help needed...

hi dudes

am having LG combo drive bought on aug 2004
My drive Model:
HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC4521B

Due to pickup problem in my drive it went for Free service for Two times
Now i cant able to write the CDs , but it can read the DVD well .

So if i can update the firmware of my drive will it work well ???
