Default Why Intel n not AMD in Branded PCs ?

Hello all , ( I'm based in INDORE - MP )

For the past few days I have been making rounds of electronics/computer stores . Invariably I find an Intel proccy in most ( every) PCs .
Why is it so ? No AMD proccy branded PCs !
Chkd for Dell which comes with AMD but they dont sell it here !!

Below Rs. 9000 ( core 2 duo 6300 ) , AMD is said to (in reviews
or mags like chip ) offer better performance/price ratio n other benefits . But I invariably find D 820 or 915 as the processor ,
never x2 3600+ / 3800+ /4200+. WHY is it so ?

plz advise me on my dilemma n the way out - see this :
Assembling vs Branded - strange problem faced ! Plz help !!

Well if u know where to look u can find AMD based PCs If u can find an equal of Nehru place of delhi in your city.
And plz update your knowledge C2D is (the only intel processor) better than any of AMD 's equivalent offerings. So if u can have it there is not much point going for AMD but ofcourse u have to make the ultimate choice.

COMPAQ is most affordable i think and gives great performances. compaq or hp are mostly same so.. you can go for either one

go for HP coz dell is not offering onsite services and hp is good... whiole HCL is very bad at services and parts .. HP or dell but dell is expensive so HP

@ Shantanu - I've found 4 models of HP . All 40000 plus .
2 with 256 mb Ram - hardly a choice .

other two PCs come with Pentium D + 512 MB @ 533 .
These r costing 43K n 49K respectively .

Price diff. due to 120/160 HDD n 15/17 inch LCD . But they seem very costly .
On the plus side is Lightscribe DVD writers + genuinr XP home -Media Centre
