Do you have a Samsung Drive. I had opened up a friend's CD drive which had a similar problem. After oiling some parts and cleaning out the dusts, it ran fine for few days. Now it is again the same.

Ya digiFriend is right. Always keep a CD in ur CD-ROM & it is much better if u keep a transparent CD (without media) in CD-ROM.

or keep the sample disc or protect disc which comes on the top and bottom of every 10 25 50 and 100 cd packs you can get it from any local media sellers... thats the best for the job
