Default 2.1 sound card

please suggest a good sound card for my speakers(creative 2.1). an additional card is better or is it that the onboard sound is good enough? please suggest

I would suggest u to upgrade ur speaker first to 5.1 then to get a sound card if ur budget permits. I am assuming ur onboard audio supports 6 channel audio as u have not posted ur PC specs

thanks for the tips but i need a 2.1 crd.. there are many good options for 5.1.. but the problem is with the 2.1 card..

Any 5.1 card could work as 2.1 nd nowadays no 2.1 cards are available. Also U can't notice the difference in sound on value creative 2.1 speakers like inspire nd SBS. It should be min of a 5.1 .

For your 2.1 speakers, the onboard 5.1 soundcard should be sufficient... With these two, mostly the speakers will be the performance bottleneck. If you want to improve the quality of sound from the set, you should consider upgrading the speakers before purchasing soundcard.
