Usb problem (urgent plz help)

hi,
i have a 915gm motherboard and a p4 ht 2.8 ghz pro.
my problem is that whenever i plug in my flash drive (jetflash v30 1 gb), the power surge on hub error keeps popping up.
the speed of the drive is also so slow that even if i copy a folder filled with shortcuts of various soft it takes abt 3-4 minutes. during this time i observed that kaspersky internet security was scanning all the shortcuts.
is the low speed because of kis 6.0 or the usb hub.also i have a ps2 keybrd and mouse. if its bcoz of kis then plz suggest a remedy for the same.
(sometimes when i plug my flash drive on one of the ports behind, the comp jst freezes, to unfreeze it i have to put half of the drive on to the front usb.)
plz gimme a solution 2 this.

YEah the problem could be coz of your antivirus just do one thing .. go to the options and disable the automatic scanning opyion for usb drives and then try again WHAT PSU SMPS are u using means that how much power of 300 350 400 watts.
