well its a myth....
But just keep one thing in mind when u buy a lcd monitor.
Its the response time (MS) it should be within 4ms to 8ms. Then you will not have any problems in playing games........

Nothing like that if u r going for supirior quality LCD
bcoz LCD provide more brightness at least twice
but contrast is less which is neccessary for games but equivalent to CRT in hight quality LCD such as of SONY
Response time is 4milisecond to 20 millisecond which provide best gaming enviornment.

If u r not able to purchase best LCD such as of Sony then CRT's are better for gaming.

its just only a myth in todays technology
