1. If ur budget permits then out of 7300gt and 7600gt, get urself 7600gt without doubt....no need of comparision.

2. XFX is a good brand with one of the best service. As for a card being slow or fast, it depends on diffferent factors......like core & memory frequency, memory type, at what setting u want to play a particular game etc.
A company release different version of same product, so I would suggest u read the specs. before buying. As for other options u can get LEADTEK, PALIT, FORSA, ASUS and many more, only high-end card are a little difficult to find.

3. You just can't rate the cards u have listed as they just are not of same category. If u have the budget get 7900GS if not then I would suggest that at minimum get urself 7600GS/GT.

What's your budget?

1. I wanted to know how drastic is the performance difference between these two? (Please be a bit detailed, if you can)
7600GT = 2.5*7300GT ..

Quote:
2. I need to buy a brand other than XFX, because I've heard that XFX
cards are substantially slow. Anyone knows what else is available in
Calcutta? And does brand choice really make that much difference?
In kolkatta i can recommend only XFX ... i've been using it for some time now , for the past 3 years guess and no probs so far . Also brand choices really matter .. Cheap cards mey have lower quality ram , thus a major bottleneck for the OC , XFX cards are known to be very good oc'ers ..

3. Can someone rate the following cards
out of 100? (Performance only, not taking into account the price)

7300GS (___ out of 100)
7300GT (___ out of 100)
7600GS (___ out of 100)
7600GT (___ out of 100)
7900GS (___ out of 100)

7900GS - 100
7600GT - 70
7600GS - 45
7300GT - 35
7300GS - 30

Hope this helps ...

@ Deathvirus_me
Dude its time you are getting weaker in maths
Come on Yahoo! we will start a maths discussion

Equation no. 1
7600GT = (2.5) 7300GT

Equation no. 2
7600 GT = 70 X

Equation no. 3
7300 GT = 35 X

Solving
We get "MATH ERROR"

Ok...OK.. Jokes apart

7300GT and 7600Gt are totally incomparable
The later one always perform better than former.
Dude you have wrong impression about XFX.
Infact they are the most reliable when it comes to price n performance.

If you still want another Company then go for Leadtek.....MSI and ASUS though will be costlier but good performance for sure
