Default noob help


hello , i just got a benq 1655 dvd burner , but i have 1 query , how much data in MBs can be burnt on an empty 4.7 gb DVD recordable , coz whenevr i tried going above 4,500 MB , it prompted me to remove some data , answer in MBs wuld be appreciated , ,plz reply,thnx

harware manufactures calculate
1GB = 1000MB = 1000 x 1000 KB

where as software manufactures calculates
1 GB = 1024 MB = 1024 x 1024 kb

So do ur calculations

^^^ so it shuld be able to go till 4700 MB , why does it prompt me after 4500 MB then , is somthing wrong with the settings

No it doesn't come to 4700 MB it comes to around 4500.

Metric System Asumes in powers of ten.
one Mega byte = 10 raised to 6 Bytes

The binary system counts on powers of two.
one Mega byte' = 2^10 = 1024 bytes.

Hence the discripancy.
