Question Laptop HDD not found! HELP!!

i just got home my friend's nu lappy, its a Presario C300. it came with FreeDOS. but i wanna format and repartition the drive. am using a bootable Win XP pro SP2 cd to boot from, but it says that it couldnt detect any hard drive to install windows to. how is that possible?

PS- there was a HDD diaganostic in the BIOS menu, i ran that too. all tests were successful. then where have i gone wrong?

hmm... well wait for others to suggest what to do while no Floppy... one quick suggestion what i have is use nLine to include the driver in to ur XP Insyallation CD...

http://www.nliteos.com

Here is a guide... how to include drivers...
http://www.nliteos.com/guide/part1.html

just use WinRAR to exctract the driver.exe what u have downloaded... then use nLite to include the driver and follow the bellow guide to make a Bootable CD of XP...

http://www.helpwithwindows.com/Windo...p2-bootcd.html (just follow the burning part...)

here is the Boot.ima file... http://www.tacktech.com/pub/microsof.../bootfiles.zip

P.S. One more way... Though its for advance users... still u can also try looking in this post http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=13173
