Prob with Combo

Hi guys...
u see i have a prob with my DVD/CD-RW Samsung Combo drive....i bought it last year and was working fine 4 d 1st few months....but then there is a weird prob....while playing DVD Movies..it always Halts after 10..20 seconds after thr play button is pressed.and indicator of both Combo drive & CPU blink continuosly for atleast 1 min...then after 2,3 secs it again halts in d same manner.the DVD i tried(or almost every DVD i tried) works well t my Friend's place who also has the same config.
Plz tell me whats d prob and its diagnosis as i contemplating whether 2 load vista or not due to this prob....

Hmmm..Problems of Samsung drives keeps on piling up here...i think its time they terminate CD drives business........
Okk..regarding your problem..
It is clearly a reading problem of the combo drive. Inability of reading leads to system hang during the process. Try cleaning the Combo with a lens cleaner.
If problem persists take it to service center. Else dispose it off and have a new drive.

try changing the cable also and see if jumpers are correctly shorted
