USB error

When i connect my camera (or for that matter, any USB device) via the USB port, i get the error message, "USB not recognised...". I tried reinstalling the USB & camera drivers, but to no avail. Even disabled the power options of the USB ports. Is something wrong with the ports? Will i have to invest in an USB card?

Well if any device is not working then it is just an problem with the USB Port.

Hmm... I recall someone else had a same problem at OTS (cant find it now though). For him what worked was powering off the system which includes pulling off the power cord from mains (this was suggested by someone I dont recall telling that doing so will discharge any residual current from motherboard ).
