Default tell about harddisk

i am planning to buy some space for my pc. suggest some good harddrives in the range of 5000. i want 200 gb but am thinking of 10000 rpm one. is it appreciably faster than 7200 and how much more heat and sound does it make.

I would suggest that you go in for a western digital hard disk. Its minimum life is 5 years unlike samsung. For me it came as an OEM with my compaq presario pc.
Even computer assemblers agree that western digital and maxtor are good hdds.

Western Digital HDDs r gud and u should be able to buy 250 GB SATA II for under 5000. But forget about 10,000 rpm HDD. WD Raptor 150 GB 10,000 rpm costs 12,000. Seagate 7200.10 series HDD comes next in my choice and and then Samsung.
