Red face laptop upgradation

pls. advice regarding updating my Compaq laptop EVO N 1000 V, P1V, 1.99 Ghz, 256 MB Ram, 20 GB HDD. It got screen problems and a repair person replaced it with a second hand screen.
now I want to upgrade
  1. hdd from 20 GB to 160 GB (or more) and keep 20 gb(original) as external usb drive.
  2. I wish to put a DVD writer. (it has an inbuilt DVD rom).
  3. I also would like to make it wifi by adding wifi pcmcia card.
Is it advisable to go for upgrades (screen already eplaced), and can u suggest me about prices.

thanx

1. U will hardly find 160 Gb HDD for Laptops. Remember laptops support 2.5" HDD and not 3.5" desktop HDDs.
2. For upgrading ur DVD check with Compaq. Only their drive will fit in ur laptop (ie. if it is modular).
3. U can add wifi pcmcia card without any problem.
