6600 GT or ATI ?

well basically I just try all games . my config is AMD3000+, 1gb ram, MSI rs482-ILD mobo , zebronics cabinet , ok . I heard the price of 6600 gt has decresed to 6k . is that true ? i AM thinking of buying 6600 gt or ATI equvalent of 6600 gt . Basically which card is the ATI 's equivalent to nvidia's 6600 gt ? should I go for that or I should buy nvidia 6600 GT ? and with my config how much performance increse I should expect ? right now I can play FEAR , DOOM 3 and oblivion ( sluggish ) . but if I attact a good graphics card can I play all the latest game still date ???

you may get a 6600GT or a X1600 Pro...but I don't think its easily available in India....

6600GT is easily available...atleast in delhi. So I suppose it should be available in mumbai too.

For 6k U Can Get A 7600gs.

yup 7600gs has had a price cut comes around 5.5 to 6k, better go for that.

you'll have hard time finding x1600

and if I attach this card to my motherboard : MSI RS482-ILD will there be any problem ? presentply its chipset is based on ATI's x200 . with this I can play games like FEAR , doom3 well but in case of Oblivion the response is sluggish .............as the chipset is based on ATI I thought buying and ATI based card would be better .......??/////// so how much performance increment I can expect ?

I also have same mobo dude....i guess 6600GT will serve u good..but better would be 7600GS....if a bit more performance then got 7600GT ...mi8 not ne in 6K bracket

i guess there is a comptibility issue with msi rs boards. one of my buddy has this msi rs480 mobo and he bought nvidia 6600gt, his pc freezes after 5mins of game play, its so annoying. we tried everything from coolers to psu upgrade to cabinet fans but nothing sorted it out. sadly he sold his mobo.

UR Freezing me now....i was also thinking of buying 7600GS......members please do confirm this....if any one has same mobo and PCI-e card on it .......

i think we should go for an ATi card .

Even i wanna Buy an AGP card so please tell me wich is a good card in the 6K-6.5K range. I hv an AGP slot on my Intel D865 Mobo (yup please no laughing guys, i knw its ages old mobo..lol..) My system is a P-4, 2 Ghz with 512 MB DDR(400) Transcend RAM
