Default RAM doubt

I have DDR RAM 400 MHz running in my computer.

The question i want to ask is...

Should we always have ram only in the series of 256, 512, 1 GB ans so on...?

Currently i'm working with 768 MB RAM... i.e., I have a 256 MB stick in one slot and a 512 MB in the other slot...

Does that make any issues or is it fine...?

In order to get noticeable deifference in the performance what can be done on the RAM modules...?

There is no problem in your current configuration of RAM.

hi,
the series 256,512,1GB is not necessary... you can have RAM how ever you like... no problem with your 768MB.... its fine... if you want to improve the performance of your system then you should upgrade your RAM...

2* 512MB RAM gives better performance than single 1GB RAM...

thank you.
