Default Plz reply within 30mins


I've a 80GB Seagate baracuda SATA II.Will it be better if i buy another 80GB HDD or get my present HDD xchanged 4 a 160GB.My mobo supports Raid 1,raid 0,raid 0+1,raid 5 and JBOD.Does installing 2 HDDs improve performance?Plz reply within half an hour as i've buy d HDD.

If u hav a powerful SMPS then its ok... else i wont suggest u to clip two HDD into ur mobo.......

change your present one with a 160 gig, less heat,less power, u can partition it to look like two hard-drives etc.
the dark-side is that: if the drives gets damaged, all your datas lost whereas with two drives you can at-least save some of it, and if anything ever happens, you'll still have one drive left

The SMPS is powerful enough.Does creating a RAID gives any performance boost in real life.If yes den which one sud i set up.

Raid 0 will definitely boost the performance....Get another 80Gig HDD and get up a Raid 0....

^^As long as you have another drive to backup important stuff. Else I'd go nowhere close to RAID-0.

@aquamatrix dats cuz raid 0 is the most unrelaible raid setup u can ever do.Its prone to failures.But guys i've heard dat raid 0 only boosts performance by bout 2-5% in real life.So will it be really worth it to set up a raid 0.
