Arrow 5.1 Spearkers

Well,

I have bought a PC just two days back....

Configuration related to problem:

Intel Pentium D 2.8GHz
Intel 945GCL [Onboard Sound - SigmaTel]
Creative Inspire 5.1
Pinnacle PCTV

Now the problem is that if I listen a song on Nero Audio all 5 speakers+subwoofer is working fine. But with any other application its not.

After few touches I got it working on PowerDVD.

But still struggling to get audio from all 5 speakers from other applications.

I have tried Winamp and Windows Media Player.
Also the windows login and logout sound is coming through just 2 speakers.
I have tried Call of Duty 2 too, and its using just two speakers.

I wish all the speakers to work even if its a stereo sounds.

Please help to have speakers working.

Thanks

Hey harsh first of all congratulations for ur new pc.i think u haven't configured ur onboard sound card for 5.1 speakers.

To configure this go to intel audio studio which will be installed along with the sound drivers.you can find in the system tray or u can find in start->all programs->intel audio studio.

Once u open this go to the setup which is there at the top of the interface.opening this u can see the option output mode.Scroll down and select it to 5.1 speakers.Restart the system and immerse urself in true 5.1 sound.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply!

But I cant see a Intel Audio Studio. (I suppose you are talking about audio drivers, and I have Sigmatel which I have already checked and configured.)

Now,

1) I have set the listening environment to 5.1 Speakers from Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices.
2) I have configured my Sound Drivers as per 5.1 Configuration.
3) I haven't installed any Audio Codec.

Any further help will be appreciated.

I think the audio system doesnt understand there is 5.1 channel in place. make sure sigmatel and ctrl panel show 5.1 channel.

have you cheked the speakers setting int CRTL panel.
Sound and Audio Devices >voulme tab> speaker setting> advanced
select the 5.1 channel and apply.

see what happens.

Thumbs up Re: 5.1 Spearkers

Go To creative speaker settings -----> then EAX Console ---->then CMSS 3D
-->then select Enable CMSS 3D and also select --->stereo sound.
hope this will solve ur problem...

If u want to enjoy 5.1 sorround in winamp do the following

go to preferences(cntrl+P) in winamp---->then under plug-ins--->select output -->on ur rght hand side select(double click) direct sound it will lead to a new menu there under devices menu u select ur creative speaker(typically sound blaster it will be,i guess)..thats all ,ur problem solved...

before doing all the above make sure that u selected 5.1 speakers option under advanced control option in sound settings located in control panel

Thanks guys for all your replies...
But my problem is still NOT solved.

As I have already said:

1) Except for NERO and POWERDVD, all sounds use only 2 speakers.(windows also use just 2)
2) I have already set up 5.1 speakers in cpanel.
3) My soundcard is of SigmaTel and it is also configured as 5.1

Here are a few screenshots:

Waiting for more help...

Thanks
