Lightbulb lcd monitor vs. lcd tv


will using an lcd tv as the monitor slow the computer down?? my friend wants to build a computer with core2duo and wanted to use his 22inch lcd tv as the monitor....if it will then by how much??

An LCD TV will have a resolution of 1366*720 (or something close to that). That will not be good enough to use for text purposes. The same size LCD monitor will give you 1920*1200 resolution which is perfect for reading text and otherwise using your PC. If, however, you are using the PC as a media center, the LCD TV will do just fine...
