Unhappy Keyboard Working Slow?

I have an IBM machine. I am using a Keyboard provided by IBM. It has been three years since I am using this machine and the Keyboard. I have a USB keyboard. I am a very fast typist. But these days my keyboard is giving me real trouble. It has become very slow. It takes seconds for the text to appear on screen. Previously this was not the scenario. It was very fast. How can I rectify this problem.

Default Re: Keyboard Working Slow?

It can possibly be a virus - have you done a thorough virus scan. Is the CPU usage abnormally high - check this from the Task Manager by hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del keys.

I had a problem with my keyboard just this morning and what I did was to UNINSTALL it from device manager and let XP find it again after a reboot. Works fine now. You could try the same procedure - may work for you too.

If Windows does not find the keyboard after the reboot, select "Install the driver from a location I will specifiy", or something like that, I can't remember the exact wording. Then, at the approprate spot, key in "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers", and hopefully it will find it then.
