upgrade for intel845gl motherboard

hi,i have Intel 845 chipset motherboard with 256MB RAM.i want to add 1GB RAM to it.should i add this RAM to this motherboard only or should i buy another motherboard bfore upgrading.if i add 1GB ram to existing motherboard & after few years change motherboard,will my RAM work properly on new one?

yeah! The old ram will work provided you get something under 875......coz your processor is s478...and after that only s775 boards are available...

Yes you can add 1GB RAM on it but your mobo is old,i would suggest to upgrade your mobo to newone.
