Smile Re: Opteron processor, speed n mb's

Listen dude! U r getting into trouble. See, just ponder to what I say. Opteron is a server processor? Isnt't it. The difference between server cpu n desktop cpu is that the server one r optimized to sustain a lot of errors, they have in built error resistance that helps when a server is being flooded with page requests. It is also optimized for security like prevention of DoS attacks n all. Also, they have very special kinda mobo.s n RAMs, overall an unnecessary expense.
Since I believe you r building a new machine for gaming n stuff, opt for a core2duo processor. But as u haven't mentioned ur budget, u can ask me at dynamicronnie@yahoo.com
One more thing, the GHz are a measure of the clock speeds at which a processor runs. It is not synthetic benchmark of performanc. What's more, xtra Ghz means lot of heat dissipation. 2-2.5 Ghz is said to bereasonable. If i xmple, then see, when only single core cpu were there, Athlons performed below 2.5Ghz while Intel P4 Prescotts were clocked at 3-even4Ghz. Result: Athlons won battle after battle for three years from 2003-2005 while the p4 produced heat good enough to be named a mini nuclear reactor. Check in google if u wish.
If u r convinced on opteron, then visit http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...tml?1114069197 for u haven't again told me what's the processor u have. I dont wanna sound rude, but u need to tell everything B4 any1 can help ya. Sorry if u found that rude.
