Suggest a good microphone for studio like sound quality

Could someone tell me which is a good microphone to use (it should be stereo and not the type with the round ball kind of cover on top) for recording purpose as me and my friends are planning to record some hip-hop tracks. we need a mic with good sound quality and should'nt cost more than Rs 2500.
Also could someone advise me as to how to connect it to the computer (whether to mic in or line in) and will onboard audio do the job well ? And tell me what is a mic preamp and how much does it cost ??
