Default Suggest a gud LCD monitor 19 inch

Please advice me on the following
1) a good 19 inch LCD monitor My budget is 17K
2) what is the native resolution of a 19 inch LCD monitor..??
3) will my games look pathetic if i play them at a lower resolution than the native resolution..?? (I have Nvidia 7600GS GFX Card)
4) I want a monitor with easy warranty(plenty service centres)
5) Does using a LCD monitor increase UPS backup time(w.r.t to CRT monitors)

I can tell you with only two days experience. But I find it very good.
Viewsonic VX 922 (19") [Response time 2ms]
2. 1280x1024 (varies in case of wide format)
3.Native resolution is always best but you can use lower ones.
4.Most brands now give 3 years warranty and even if the service centre is not nearby, the technician comes next day.
5.Yes, since they use about one third power of CRT.
Try to buy one with DVI input and low response time.
BTW there are 19" LCDs which are Rs.5000/- less than this model

if u can spend 17K then go for

SyncMaster 940B
8ms Response Time
700:1 Contrast Ratio
1280x1024

It has a DVI-D input too
The response time of the Viewsonic monitor is definetly much better, but the service centres are less compared to Samsung.

Go for a widescreen if you're buying a 19" LCD. Movies look better and all new games support widescreen resolution. The native res of 1280x1024 dosen't do justice to a 19" considering that even a 17" LCD has the same native res.

2 models will give you great image quality at a decent price:

1. Viewsonic VA1912WB
2. Samsung 940BW

Both are widescreen with 1440x900 resolution, DVI and a pretty low response time.
Cost will be about Rs. 15,000-16,000 for both.

I would also suggest the Samsung 940BW from personal experience. I bought it recently and its beautiful.
But if you dont want widescreen then go for the Viewsonic VX922. Not sure if it is within your budget though.
