Default iPod Setup Problem...plz help


Hi folks....my new ipod was workin fine in its early days suddenly startd givin hardware error...wen i connect it 2 my pc a drive is created but theres no lable n wen i open it says drive needs 2 b formatted...wen i try formatting (FAT) it says cannot complete d format....out of 2gb mem...around 800mb was used in it...within ipod im not able 2 look for mp3 files...although i can see d directries n a video file can be played, plus fm, games etc r workin fine...but cant see ne thing in pc...any idea plz

How come your iPod has fm in it. AFAIK iPod never had fm in it. BTW iTunes is the software that you get with your iPod which helps you in transferring music from your pc to your pod with minimum fuss. Maybe using iTunes will solve your problem.

its probably cause yur using a fake ipod, cus real ones never have fm

Yes even i think its a fake. Real iPod never had fm nor does it give such silly problems. And it always comes with iTunes. Btw @jz2linkinpark, thanks for telling me. I am kinda geographically challenged.

can b...i was gifted that...lemme precise wat happened....wen i got it i transfered abt 1 gb mp3 n mpg files in it....mp3 files played fine then suddenly....now its lyk i cnt access my drives...its says i need 2 format n i cant format either....anyway i can format it plz

Load of fake IPods out there dude .. lets make two things clear :

(i) IPod cannot have FM ...

(ii)U need ITunes to transfer musinc to Ipod's .. simply copy-pasting into the usb drive will not work , meaning Ipod will not detect the songs anyway ..

Also , u should have a Ipod formatting tool bundled ... use that and see if the device is formatable or not ...
