Lightbulb Buying an External Hard Drive

What are the things to be kept in mind while buying an external hard drive?
Can you reccommend some good brands? I am basically looking for an external HDD with atleast 20 GB space.......... what is the price of such drives?

I thought of opting for internal HDD with external case, but someone in the US can get me a good external hard drive........which one would you reccommend?

You mean 20 GB right?
I suggest you get an external enclosure for about Rs. 500-750 and put in any internal hard disk of your choice. This is the cheapest way to get an external hard disk.

Go for Ext usb hdd from US (LOL)
Benefits
> does not require external Power (as in case of cased HDD's).
> Way too handy.
> Way too compact. (almost 1/2 of cased one)

Go 60+ as 20GB considering now is nothing

I have the Vantec eSATA external case for SATA II HDDs. It is very fast and looks great. Only problem is its price .... 3500/- .... ONLY for case NO HDD

It can run an OS off it - I have Windows Vista RC2 installed and running from a Hitachi 250GB HDD which is in this case.
