suggest me some good CPU and M.Board under 10k

guys i need to built up a system and i just need to buy 512mb ram and an INTEl CPU with a good mobo which will be able to play games(doesnt matter if it plays at low or high settings).i have heard ati express chipsets motherboards are quite good.my whole budget to buy ram,cpu and mobo is around 10k.

can u suggest me some things.
any kinda help is welcomed

well not sure about how much RAM can come under 10k with mobo and CPU... right now market is saling huge Intel system...

one could be P4D 2.66 + D102GGC for 8k i guess.... and that felt us with 2k for the RAM.. well u may get a 256MB DDR2 in that... as a 512MB will cost about 2.9k i guess...

and for AMD based system
Processor AMD 64 - 3000+ with mobo Gigabyte RS-482 with ATI chipset graphics for around 6.8k so that lefts us with 3.2k for a RAM... and well u can manage a DDR1 400MHz 512MB stick in 3.2k...

so the AMD one is better i guess for ur budget... and wait for other members to post with their config...

In Lamington Road-Mumbai you WILL get:
Processor: Intel D805 = Rs.4200
Mobo: D101Ggc = Rs.3000
Ram: 512 DDR 400Mhz = Rs.2800 ... Ram price is as on Friday the 13th October(no pun intended) but the RAM prices have been fluctuating more than the stock market prices for the past couple of months...one weeek it costs Rs.2300 and the next it's gone up to Rs.3200 (I don't understand why & neither did the shopkeeprs explain why)...so you probably will have to make several visits for the RAM to meet your budget.
Anyway if you get the 512mb RAM in Rs.2800 (on the day you buy) than the above config will cost you EXACTLY Rs.10000/-
However if you are compromising on the RAM i.e. get a 256mb instead you might be able to squeeze in D820 & D102Ggc...but I have my doubts as it might stretch you for another Rs.1000

i think D805 is not some thing which should be use with D101... simply doesnt work good on that borad with DDR1... better option is with D102 as its supports DDR II but in this case D102 with DDR 2 512MB wont fit in budget.. so AMD 3000+ is still looks better
