New CPU... suggestion

I'm thinking about buyin a new motherboard, CPU and a stick of RAM

So tell me: some fine guidelines, i mean "things i better look out"

But do keep in mind the budget... he he he... I don't want to go overboard!!!

I was thinking buysing P4 3 Ghz... but someone in other post said it gets way to HOT "prescott thingie"

the main thing is not about the heat its just coz p4 is outdated......
If u r budget is atleast 10k then u can get a E6300.......

Dude the Core 2 Duo is the latest series from Intel.The E6300 is its lowest MOdel but still manages to beat a 3.4Ghz Intel Pentium D Processor or an AMD 3800+ !!

If you are gonna get a new Rig then get the following :

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 : Rs.9200
Transcend 512 x 2 DDR 667 RAM : Rs.5500
ASUS P5B-V (Intel X3000 Graphics) Motherboard : Rs.7500 approx.

my budget is upto 32,000 and i only need CPU/Motherboard/RAM

PS: Right now... I'm in NEPAL, so only motherboard i can find is Intels !!!

So... Asus is out of the picture... Any suggestion which CHIPSET? (do keep in mind the budget)

Me also... looking for Procy + Mobo + RAM + Cabinet (PSU) my budget is under 30k

here is what i am looking for...

E6600 => some 16.5k (while in Kolkata, i found its over 20.5k + TAX )
Intel G965 based Mobo => Mybudget is under 7k (i cant fine any board with that chipset) though here at digit I read DG965 RY and SS are available under 7.2k but not in reality and what i found in Kolkata market
1GB DDR2 667MHz => some 6.5k (i got this from local Kolkata vendor, while in Digit forum members write it should be under 6k)

I got all the price while calling my vendor... now i feel i need to visit the local market for exact numbers... as i am surprised to see Local Kolkata Market is so much different from what Digit Members write !!!
