Right Off the Assembly Line

Unhappy RAM repairing


i have a DDR 256 MB 266MHz RAM. In a RAM test Software i found that there is 1 Error in my RAM. Is thete any way to Repair it.

yes you are right gary but if ram is damage a bit then it is possible to repair it.

A shopkeeper in my area says i repair ram,if your ram has damaged then i will repair it.

well seriously speaking...rams can b repaired no doubt.......but c.....first if its warranty its better to replace if not......thn if u go for repairing...than inorder to check which chip has error and replacing that will cost more than ram cost.......as theequipment to test this are not with everyone ...so its better to get new or replaced...i havent seen anyone repairing their ram......

Sometimes it can,
I had a ram...and after some experimenting it got unstable at stock timings,speed,voltage,
My system used to restart as soon as it booted....I ran memtest 86 for about 12hrs and...I don't know what happened but it became stABLE...rock stable..and normal..
So try running memtest about 2 times, and see, if u r lucky then u might turn up with the ram fixed..

Some ram companies say life time warranty i.e 3yrs...or after than ram goes kaput they say that the ram's life is over so no warranty!

hey no..means no brand gives lifetime.......and i guess transcend only writeslifetime....but it means 3-5 years.....once they stop its productionits gone......

nly bfg which are number 1 in graphic card ....that gives truelifetime warranty...all other r gimmicks

OCZ ,Transcend, Kingston, Zion, all have life time warranty i.e 3yrs!.. lol

Oh ! these companies attract peoples by saying our RAM has Lifetime Warranty i.e. 3 yrs.

Simply buy a new stick there is no way out. Better get a 512 MB one
