Default peculiar problem with HDD partitions

Hi friends,

I recently installed the Windows Vista beta-2 that I received free from Microsoft. I have a 80GB HDD with 4 partitions. I Installed vista in F drive by formatting it from the Vista setup.

The problem is I cannot view the entire F drive itself from Windows XP (I have dual booted with XP) although I can see all the 4 partitions from Vista.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Hello, why isn't anyone replying? It is important to get the space back in order to save the torrent files...

Technically, you cannot assume he is indeed downloading pirated stuff (even though I assume he is ) because he could be downloading from legal sites like legaltorrents.com

As for the problem, vista modifies the partition order afaik. In the sense it can change d: drive to e: or f:. You've said that you can see 4 partitions through vista, but are you able to see 4 partitions on booting through xp?

Cool down people, it is my problem what I want to do with the space (I have not mentioned what I download by torrent so you cannot tell me that I am d/l'ing pirated stuff. And morever, there is this pending billing problem with Dataone which is continuing for the last one month-see the dataone sticky in the Chit Chat section. So I seldom download nowadays). Let's focus on the main issue.

Yes, I can see and access and write to all 4 partitions from Vista although the vista partition is not visible and accessible from XP. All partitions are in NTFS.

Any suggestions?

In XP start Disk Management and see if this partition shows - if it does than the problem could be as simple as allocating the partition a Drive Letter.
