Default Audio port in CD R/W issue?????

i have this yamaha CD R/W(CRW-F1S). well, there is a audio port in the front panel of it besides the CD tray. i wanted to make audio output from this audio outlet connected to my head phone. the sound seems to be not coming out. i have tested this head phone in other computers and it works fine. how can i make this phone port works??? my computer is win xp pro SP2.

i have gone through web site also but cant get the detials that i requiered. a bit confused. well, just that... how can i make it work???

The audio out in your CD RW drive works only for Audio CDs and not for MP3/WMA/DivX. So test with an AUDIO CD!

Ya, mod-the-pc is right. One another thing, to make audio output, an internal cable shud b connected btwn ur CD R/W & MB/Soundcard (coz ur soundcard is used for that.)

so this means that my audio port is almost of no use for me. well, then i will use the inbuult sound card then.
