Exclamation DDR Frequency!

I have a Pentium 4, 1.7 Ghz, 400Mhz CPU FSB. I have installed a DDR400 DIMM
on my system. My motherboard (an ASUS P4P800-VM) supports 800Mhz CPU FSB
and 400Mhz memory frequency but the system shows DDR frequency as 266Mhz in
the POST screen. I tried installing the DIMM in another slot but to no
avail. Do I need to flash my BIOS? help! confused

How do you know that the motherboard supports 400MHz RAM. I doubt such an old mobo will support anything over 266/333.

pentium 4 1.7 ghz does not support any thing more than 266

this done as fsb is 133x4 hz thats why ram is 133x2 hz
