Default moderately priced chipset for dual core?

suggest chipset for dual core processor ,DDR2 RAM, moderately priced, in the range of 102 intel currently available...

already have a upgraded contraption with 102 intel chipset on intel MB..is giving problems with DVD writer so need to change the MB...dealer is suggesting intel 945 your suggestion
