AMD prices info wanted

Hey, I am surprised to see AMD 64 (3 Ghz) prices higher than Intel Dual Core prices! Is this true or am I taken for a ride? Please let me know prices of AMD 64 (939 socket) prices and Intel Dual Core prices on the lowest end (in Mumbai). I am planning to assemble one on a 939 socket and later uprade to dual core. Also suggest me the cheap and best motherboard for this. Thanks.

Which is the best mobo for AMD 64 on 939.? MSI award winning board has been termed as unstable and unreliable by some user reviews. I want to us 64 -3000 and later upgrade to dual core.

dude....which model u stating?????????i mean the number..dual core 939 that too above 3800+ prices are higher than dual core intel.......but they beat intels hell out..........

only dual core c2d beats amds Ass......but only lower version one 6300 available here that too ard 10k.....also no stable mobo in market too support c2d........so again u have to shelve 10+k on mobo.........

for amd get amd 3800+ x2 and asus a8ne+decent graphic card+atlest 1gb ram...but if u getting all new its better to go for c2d

Why go for 939 socket??Its obselete now. U won't get a 939 proccy now a days.
Get an Athlon X2 3600+ for 3.2k and Asus M2N MX for 3.4k.
U can later upgrade to a better proccy like the X2 5600+ or 6000+ on the same mobo. The mobo has onboard 6100 GFX and u can later add any PCIE card later.
