Default S1 mp3 flash player giving problems

I had bought S1 mp3 flash player with 512 mb memory few days ago. It worked properly for some days and showed 497 mb free space. But recently i formatted it through Win xp default format programme, and then the problem started. The player started showing only 118mb free memory space what is the problem???? How can i fix it.

Mp3 players cannot be formatted like pen drives! A small amount of space from the flash memory is stored for the firmware (OS) of the mp3 player required for its working. Moreover you might have formatted in the FAT32 format, mostly they need FAT16. You will have to load the firmware again. For more info on it check http://www.s1mp3.org/en/downloads_fw.php#standard

Check if there's a bundled formatting utility with the player.

You should format using these utilities, so u wont get space problems.

Or u can download them from manufacturer's site.
