Re: is 3800+ worth a buy than a 3.2 ghz intel processor.but amd has a lower cloakspeed!!!
if u r going 4 gaming system then AMD is the processor for which u shud go for, just higher clock sppeed doesnt mean dat it will perform better, AMD has shorter pipelines so data transfer is faster , it is more stable and runs at lower temperature even at stressful conditions

For gaming:
Single core:
Amd 64 3000>Intel 3-3.4 or higher
Dual core:
X2 3800 > Intel D930 or maybe even D940 and for gaming better than maybe even D950.
Get Amd X2 3800, simple, amd does more clock cycles per second.
AS for single core, get amd 64 3000-3500 + good mobo + good cooling+ better ram and most importanty best graphic card. Just OC the CPU.
or get x2 3800 around 8k or so

For gaming dun go for dual core, even from AMD. The X2 3800+ scores much less than a 3500+ in gaming(vice versa in other apps).
3500+ is very cheap around 5900/-. So gr8 value for money in gaming.
ANYWAY DO ANYONE KNOW THE CURRENT PRICE OF X2 3800+?????
Here goes a good config:
AMD 3500+ : 5900/-
ASUS A8NE : 5500/-
2x512DDR : 4400/-
250GB SATA2 : 3900/-
A good cab: 2500/-
7600GT : 11500/-
SONY DVDRW: 2300/-
450w or 500w SMPS: 2000/-
17" flat: 6200/-
A Good KB + mouse: 800+800=1600/-
Logitech X530 5.1 speakers : 5500/-
---------------------------------------------
51300/-
U can cut short somethin like lower speakers or PSU or KB etc to fit in 50k.
Happy with your system friend.
