pentium d 930 vs. athlon x2 3800+

please help me in choosing the right processor

dude gettin the right processor out of the two depends on the other peripherals ......for the AMD one u need to have low latency ram ....as for the pentium u need to have ram with high frequency .......another problem wid intel is that there r not any games or programs currently supportin it...(only QUAKE 4 wid latest patch supports it and u get a boost of around 87%) and no there r not any optimizers for intel available as of now ...but fr AMD they have released an optimizer...which makes programs see it as a sigle processor...
so AMD would be bettr...

x2 3800 is a clear win imo.

X2 3800+ can easily do 2.4 GHz .. so that means ur getting urself a X2 4600+ for quite a low price ... and that would pwn the PentiumD 930 ... get the 3800+ .. with a mobo that is good with oc preferably ...

intel xe is just extreme cpu, expensive but not as good.
why not go for amd 64 5000, this is the same question?

rather get c2d 6600 instead of both of these.
