Unhappy tv tuner card creating havoc!

recently i have installed a compro videomate pvr/fm tv tuner card. card is
giving me excellent picture. but most of the time when i switch on my
computer, it says 'Found new hardware, compro videomate multimedia device'.
a splash screen then appears saying 'searching for drivers'. previously i
had to uninstall the whole software then reinstall again. i had to take
pain of scanning all the channels and renaming them. now everyday at the
end of my work i have to create a restore point, if that happens again i
use system restore. please help me out of it. it is driving me crazy. i use
windows xp, intel 845 GVSR mother board with onboard graphics, 256mb ram,a
creative webcam and hp printer attatched to the usb ports

Default Re: tv tuner card creating havoc!

This is some extreme case, please check if there are any new driver updates or the PVR software upgrade for the particular TV tuner. The issue you are facing can occur due to some hardware changes like installing the tv tuner card on a different PCI slot. Since it is happening a lot of times, I dont think that would be the case. You can try some random things like installing the tv tuner on a different PCI slot or checking out ur SMPS.
