my pc only beeps; does not boot......heeeelp

my pc after turning on just beeps for some time ; stops; again beeps . there is no display, nothing . plz help me to solve this problem; i cant live without my pc
my config:
via 845 chipset
128 mb ram
1.8 ghz P4
40 gb hdd
win xp

hey, first check ur monitor cable, make sure u have attached it firmly to its socket.

then, try removing & reseating ur RAM

do u use a agp card or onboard video.........??

1 long, 2 short - Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information

Any other beep(s) RAM problem.

Alternating high & low (tones) beeps - CPU problem ........try removing & reseating ur processor

Unlock CPU Cover.
Clean Dust in Processor and RAM . (There must be Dust !! for this type of problm )

Also make sure than all PCI components are firmly attached

if u use a graphic card try removing & reseating it. Also remove any dust on the components (if any) ........as dust sometimes can prevent electrical connections

1st of all check that ur power button wires r properly connected....

i dont think when the CMOS battery is discharged the PC beeps.
u can press F1 and continue.....

and the beep problem 75% of time is loose ram related problem......and i guess its the same....... check that ........
