Cool Additional IDE Controller Problem

I use an INTEL 915-GAV Desktop Board.
The problem am facing is i own three IDE HDDs.Also i own a Sony DVD-RW
but at a time i can connect only two devices at a time.

Is there any other way of adding an add-on card to the PCI slot that solves this problem ?

Anything that works with USB is also fine

Get an External USB HDD case and place one of the HDD in it - these are available from a price range of around 700/- to 2500/-. You could also get a PCI HDD controller - I have a Promise IDE one.

I bought it about 6 - 8 years back .... cannot remember the exact price but it was around 1200/- at that time ..... must be much cheaper now. I cannot even remember which shop I got it from at Lamington Road Mumbai. I have never used this controller as I later got a Mother Board which had 10 HDD connectors - the ASUS P4C800ED.

I have read in the StorageReview forums that this Promise controller is not very good - it is meant to be a bit troublesome.

I think you should go in for an external USB HDD Case. I have a Vantec USB HDD case and this gives me 33mb/s data transfer speed which is pretty good. This case is sold for around 2.5K
