Smile MSI or Gigabyte


i came to no that MSI motherboards ie micro star international boards are really of gigabyte and there performance is not good.
i was thinking to purchase P4N diamond with 1000MHz FSB and a Pentium D Processor with 512 Mb ram. whats ur openion.

buying pentium D now is foolish .. when conroe is going to be available soon .. also prices of pentium D is going to fall big time .. as well as prices of amd athlon series ..

also, msi makes some very good mobos and gigabyte has not been in the top spots for quite some time, who told you that gigabyte makes its mobos?

i suggest to go for AMD 64 FX 60 OC'ed its best and better than conroe......

FX60, Asus A8N-32SLI Deluxe 2 gigs of OCZ Tech mem, 2 BFG 7900GTX OC 512mb in SLI, 3 Seagate Barracudas in RAID 5 Artic Freezer 64

1) At stock, Conroe is better.
2) If you overclock both them Conroe is still better.

3) Rather get 4GB ram.

4) Rather get 1900XTX ( OC ) Crossfire

5) Do you even know his budget? Somebody going for Pentium D with 512mb ram can surely not be spending that kind of money?

What is your requirement and budget?

I'd say stick to MSI , if only those two are the only options ... specially if u think u'll oc a bit ...

well i still have with me an intel original 915 GAV motherboard with 512 mb 400mhz ram on a pentium 4 3.0 GHz HT processor and looking for some boards having sata II capacity.
