Blu-Ray is a disc standard developed by Sony alongwith few other companies. It has a good encryption and a behemoth of storage space.
Hope it will release soon.

Remember the early years when we bought CD Drives and DVD drives at astronomical prices. So we can expect to get them at the price of a DVD writer but only after many years.
Also like the issue of Betamax vs VHS standard in the early eighties, it is still not clear which will survive, Blue Ray or HD DVD.
A single-layer Blu-ray disc (BD) has enough storage capacity (25GB) for approximately two hours of high-definition video with audio. A dual-layer (50GB) BD can hold enough data for approximately four hours of HD video. TDK recently announced that they have created a working Blu-ray disc capable of holding 200GB of data (six 33GB data layers).
i hope ...blu-ray will be in inda at the same time its there all over the world..and will get affordable....faster...
As of now if at all it becomes available here, the cheapset drive is likely to cost much more than Rs.25000/- and you can imagine the price of the blank discs. Of course it will become affordable over time.
