Post comp. startup trouble

Hello frndz ,
I ve a problem .
My spec. is 915gbvl Mobo . ( 4 ram slots )
hynix 512 Mb Ram 2 pieces ( totally one GB )
80 GB HD.

Now my computer fails to start or when starts , automatically turn off within few minutes .

I thought it may be due to dust in Ram slot , and cleaned it .
in the process i found in the channel A primary slot two pins are broken from their respective places as well as the same in the Ram was blackened .

Any how the comp manages to start occasionally with the help of secondary Ram but the problem still prevails .

Suggest me something frndz , what to do . Is there any possibility to correct that , and if possible can somebody post me why this is . ?

Thanx frndz

Post Re: comp. startup trouble

Try running your system with one RAM i.e. the one which is plugged into the undamaged slot.

a) If your problem is gone; well, you might you've to get that slot repaired. Though, I think that's a kind of work for which most engineers don't take the risk. They'll suggest you to get a new mobo. But, I think (if that's the case) you should sell your 512*2 RAMs and get a 1 gb RAM instead.

I know, that'll mean lower performance; but, in the other solution, you'll have to spend some money.

b) If your problem still persists; well, give me some more details.
