combo drive problem read some dvd dosen't read others

i have a lg combo drive 52x 32x 52x 16x
HL-DT-ST_RW/DVD_GCC-4522B
it set up as secondary master ,secondary slave is a samsung cd rom
primary master is seagate hdd

it read some dvd but it dosent read some.
the sane dvd which it dosent read runs on other dvd drive .
some times it dosent read a dvd which it used to run before

plz help me it is urgent

Try cleaning with a lens cleaner, its a common problem with most of the drives today..qulaity is definitely deterioating ... same with the qulaity of cds and dvds

i did the cleaning but it dosent help .do i hava to do a jumper setting (one friend told it problem jumper)etc

basically it is the problem with this drive design, it performs bad on reading DVD's. even firmware upgrades won't be of much help. try contacting yr dealer

same problem with me(lg 4522B). i had updated firmware to 1.08 from 1.04 . Combo used to read dvds from digit and chip as well as other sources quite well till about a month back, but now suddenly, no dvds are recognised(not even the old ones). i can only read/write cds.

appparently, there's no solution except for changing the drive for a newer one.
