Arrow Suggest me a DVD Burner

Hello everyone,

I want to buy a DVD Burner that can also burn multi-layer DVD.

Some people told me most of the writers can last as long as maximum 1 year only. Is this true?

Which is most stable?

Sony, LG, Asus, Samsung.... which is really worth?

Please also specify the current prices in Indian market.

It was posted in Open Source Section. I moved it here.
Coming to the question, I have Benq 1650 which many people suggested me. It seems to be going good for me.

All Sony drives are rebaged LiteON/BenQ drives. I'd recommend BenQ DW1650.

Go for a LiteOn or a Sony! Sony delegates his DVD burner production to Liteon!
There you go!

When quoting price it will be nice to specify whether it is that of a boxed one or OEM.

To be really frank , if u visit sites like cdfreaks or cdrlabs .. people say that benq is king .. i got benq 1640 , lite on 165p6s and lg h10n ..

out of these three .. lite on rocks .. benq is excellent on + r media but poor on -r media .. tried 8 different firmware .. still the problem exists ..

and i just recently got lg .. hence can't comment on it ..
