Default How many RAM modules should I go for?

I am thinking of upgrading my RAM to 2GB. My question is should I go for 4x512MB or 2x1GB?

2x1gb as better expandability and cost value
2X1gb=2x4300=8600/-
4x512mb=4x2700=11000/-

I'd like to say that 1gb stick costs Rs.3.6k !!

And hey, 1 512mb stick is Rs.2100 and not Rs.2700, hence, it should be Rs.8,400.

There is no point in either quoting prices or aguing about them without mentioning brands. [and in case of high end ones, specific models also.(value series, gold series etc.)]
