Default channels swapped

the L & R channels seem to be swapped in the games. i can correct this problem in movies by custom mapping in the media player classic. but how can i do this in the games. i mean it is annoying sound comes from the R channel, when it shud come from the L channel. i use headphones and they work correctly on my friends computer. i think it is the problem with the audio decoder. do games use a separate decoder or the default windows decoder. i put ffdshow filter as the default decoder and using custom mapping swapped the channels
it works fine on movies but in games the problem remains.

can it be done using registry or something. please someone help me.
