Default about pentium d 805 *

FSB of pentium d 805 is 533mhz so ddr2 ram of >533mhz will work as only 533mhz
and ddr2 533mhz ram r slower than ddr 400mhz?

so for d 805, should i opt for a board with ddr 400mhz support?
help...

i never knew that FSB and RAM clocks were related
DDr2 533 Mhz is much faster than than DDR 400, but the previous has much higher latencies as well. If u afford a low latency mem., its gr8

Well .. the cheap one's are . coz they have uber high timings ... at stock with a similar processor , the ddr400 should do better ... but hey ... 100 MBps matter much ???

Usually there is a sticker on the module. But alternatively u can use s\w like CPU-z etc.
DDR1 modules usually have a rating of 2.5.....

I mean that there is a lable on the module that has the info.i.e speed, size, latency etc.

RAM LATENCY
DDR2(low latency) vs DDR (includes names of mems)
Mostly, Corsair and Kingston manufacter these low latency mem modules.

This should help

Well consider this .. normal ddr400 from zion with latencies 3,3,3,6 costs in at about 4600 bucks for 1 GB ... now consider ddr400 OCZ gold edition modules with latencies at 2,3,2,5 which costs in at 10500 for 1 GB .... not much diff. eeh ??

Consider overclocking by increasing the FSB.
PD805 overclocks easy.
